Email Copy Link Copied The Big Bang Theory has just begun its eleventh season, continuing its run as one of the most successful comedies on the air. The show has been through quite a few ups and downs, and the characters have showed major development over the past ten years. Sheldon is now engaged to Amy and doing pretty well at maintaining the relationship. Leonard and Penny are married, and Howard and Bernadette are expecting their second baby. Additionally, Raj can now talk to women without alcohol. It’s been quite a long journey for the characters, but it’s also been a journey for the cast and crew behind the scenes. The showrunners, writers, and cast have had their share of troubles keeping the show going. The Big Bang Theory had some issues even getting on the air at the outset, and it was fortunate to survive its first season.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in Spawned by earlier group The Id, the outfit is composed of co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals), along with Martin Cooper (various instruments) and Stuart Kershaw (drums); McCluskey is the only constant member.

The report describes the systemic and endemic breakdown in the law-enforcement and justice systems of the British Channel Island of Jersey; a breakdown in the administration of justice that had permitted and concealed decades of child-abuse. The Police Force was, however, in a lonely position — facing as it did the continuing intransigence and corruption of the prosecution and judicial systems in the Crown Dependency of Jersey. To have any chance of succeeding in finally securing protection for the vulnerable and justice for the abused, the Police required the support and co-operation of unbiased prosecutors and judges.

So it was that the Jersey politician me who had blown the whistle on the decades of child-protection failure wrote the report below and sent it to the then Labour government Justice Secretary Jack Straw. The report explained how many irredeemable structural defects and fatal personal conflicts of interest concerning child-abuse cover-ups beset the Crown prosecution and judicial systems of the Channel Island, and that only the UK government, in accordance with its duties and legal obligations, could clean-up the system.

The prosecution and subsequent Stalinist show-trial mounted against me was, ostensibly, for publishing evidence — in March — which showed the illegal cover-up of an episode of clinical serial-murder engaged in by a rogue nurse. However — some years later — following an inadvertent disclosure to me by Google during their capitulation to the child-abuse cover-ups of the Jersey government when extirpating my Blogger account — it became clear the Jersey oligarchs had been desperately pressuring Google to shut down the blog as early as November In particular — I was the only media source in Jersey openly and strongly questioning and challenging what was obviously the illegal, politicised suspension of Police Chief Graham Power in November The then Senior Partner of Bailhache LaBesse was William Bailhache — who was later appointed by London as Jersey Attorney General — who then had me arrested, prosecuted and driven out of the Jersey legislature — for exposing a number of child-abuse cover-ups — including the cover-up his law-firm had participated in in These are evidenced — and wholly extraordinary — events.

Occurrences without precedent in the modern era of public administration in the British Isles. From — through — and beyond, actual UK government Justice Secretaries — such as Jack Straw — actively supporting the overtly and structurally corrupt concealment of decades of child-abuse.

The dark and light world of Stuart MacBride

Savile and Hall cast a spell over the Seventies 03 May He used these words to describe my statement, one of 18 by 15 different women describing his sexual assaults committed over a period of 30 years, mine when I was just nine years old. Hall has proved that self perception is illusory: Would anyone have believed a nine-year-old over an effusively articulate adult with friends in high and exciting places? Retrospectively, I know my parents would have believed me.

I felt disgusting after the incident where Hall had come into my bedroom at night and made a bizarre attempt to touch me. I felt dirty, but I did not understand why.

Shooting The Odds: Dr. Shipko is a psychiatrist in private practice in Pasadena, CA and author of Surviving Panic Disorder and Xanax from his clinical experience, his blog concerns adverse effects of SSRI antidepressants, particularly withdrawal related effects.

That certainly wasn’t the case in the early years. To begin with, cooking pots were lined inside with enamel, but they looked like any other cast iron on the outside. People wanted a way of coating iron to stop metallic tastes or rust getting into food: The story of enamel cookware begins in the s in Germany. The idea of finding a safe, convenient coating first took hold there: Fifty years later vitreous enamel linings, also called porcelain, for kitchen pans were becoming familiar in several European countries.

Enamelling was no longer limited to decorative arts and crafts. Were enamel-lined cooking pots really as clean and safe as they seemed? Some people praised them as far better than anything known before. Others spoke of poisonous ingredients leaching into the food. Finding out what cooks or housekeepers thought in the early days is not so easy. Over the next few decades enamel-coated metal came into use for domestic pots, pans, basins, as well as for street signs, medical equipment and more.

And yet enamelware was still a long way from the attractive and useful mass-produced utensils of the late s and early s.
